STUDENT WRITTEN STORIES
Quality Pie produced by Nick Zagone was a student written, directed, and designed production. Seven ten-minute pieces that premiered in a single night.
Nick Zagone was interested in a space that functioned like a cabaret or stage. The challenge was creating a space that could tie and enhance all of these drastically different works. While they all ranged in different themes and content, they each had underlying perspectives to Central Valley concerns. One of those perspectives being the juxtaposition between the natural world and the industrial world.
The space became a large wooden structure that opened and closed. A resource that can blend into a natural, domestic, fantastical, and historical context. This dichotomy was enhanced by these golden industrial lights that glowed to communicate changes in the environment.
